Shangru Du is a concert pianist whose playing combines imagination, color, and virtuosity. He has appeared in major venues across Asia, Europe, and the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Van Cliburn Concert Hall, the Auditorium in Bolzano and more.
A quarterfinalist in the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and semifinalist in the 2025 Busoni International Piano Competition, Shangru’s artistry reflects his belief in musical sincerity and resonates deeply with audiences across the world. Born in Shandong, China, he studied at Oberlin with Matti Raekallio and Stanislav Ioudenitch, at The Juilliard School with Raekallio and Jerome Lowenthal, and at the Eastman School of Music, where he is completing his Doctor of Musical Arts under Douglas Humpherys.
