About Shangru Du


Shangru Du is a rising young concert pianist who was once described by the legendary pianist and scholar Paul Badura-Skoda as "... an extraordinary pianist brimming with musicianship." As a sought-after performer, Shangru has performed in numerous prestigious venues, including Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.


Having graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree, where he studied under the guidance of Cliburn Gold Medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch, and subsequently earned a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Professors Matti Raekallio and Jerome Lowenthal, Shangru is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance at the Eastman School of Music with Professor Douglas Humpherys.
