About Shangru Du


Shangru Du is a promising young concert pianist who was once described by the piano legend and scholar Paul Badura-Skoda as “... an extraordinary pianist who has full of musicianship.” As a sought-after performer, Mr. Du has appeared at numerous important venues such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, etc. 


After graduating from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (Bachelor of Music) where he studied with Cliburn Gold Medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch, and from Juilliard School (Master of Music) under the tutelage of Prof. Matti Raekallio and Prof. Jerome Lowenthal, Mr. Du is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance at the Eastman School of Music with Prof. Douglas Humpherys.
